Mounting Guidelines & Techniques
Art Hanging Rail System
Our Gallery has installed a Gallery Clear Wire System for use with our exhibit. Clear polypropylene wires hang from a strong aluminum track to support the artwork and slide easily to any position along the track. Security hooks lock firmly into place along the wire.
Mounting Technique
The recommended mounting technique for art works is wire attached 1/3 down from the tip of the picture frame (see Hardware Recommendation below).
Display Height
The National Gallery Standard height to hang art is 60” on center, the average height of the viewer’s eye level. We make every effort to abide by these recommendations; however, we reserve the right to display the works that is best suited for the event and space.
Hardware Recommendations:
1. Picture Wires
2. D-ring (also known as Mirror Hooks)
3. Eye Screws
