The exhibition, Points of View, brings together a selection of artwork from Master of Fine Arts and Bachelor of Fine Arts students of the University of Nevada Las Vegas, Department of Art.
Students in the programs come from a wide variety of backgrounds, and each has been accepted after a portfolio review. At each level, Masters or Bachelors, students are directed to search out and refine their own point of view as an artist. Whether of a very personal source or from a broader, cultural setting, each point of view has progressed through concept to realization. However derived, individual viewpoints are given visual form, tested, refined and visualized again. The result may take the form of a thoughtfully fashioned painting, photograph, print, drawing, sculpture, assemblage, digital media or any combination or variation thereof. And with such these young artists are making known their Points of View. Though broad in their investigations, the cohesiveness comes of their diversity. Paintings, photography, mixed media and digital media works are included in this exhibition. Jerry Schefcik, Galleries Director Donna Beam Fine Arts Gallery / Marjorie Barrick Museum - UNLV ThinkArt!
